Minnesota's premier NUEVO LATINO CHEF was born in St. Paul, MN to Mexican parents and moved to Minneapolis in his early childhood.
After high school he moved to South Florida to pursue a career in ballroom and latin dancing with the Fred Astaire dance studios of Sarasota, Florida.
In 1991, Luis hung up his dance shoes and picked up the spatula then created "Backdraft, the hot sauce", his first adventure in the fiery food industry.
Latin cuisine occupies one of the first places among the world gastronomies, due to its exceptional richness and the enormous variety of its ingredients. Its originality is closely linked to Mexico’s history, for it is the result of the merging of two great cultures the Mesoamerican and the Spanish, and constitutes a splendid manifestation of the Latinos’ temperament and creativity.
Now the "MINNEAPOLIS LATIN" is blazing a trail with his cuisine in Catering to Mpls & St. Paul. From 1999 to present. Combining culinary & dancing wizardry, he  created his "Dancing Gourmet" shows that have received international recogonition.

Chef Luis has won 3 US titles3-time winner Bon Appétit Classic, 2-time winner Texas Challenge, & 1st place - Super Chef 2000 in Atlanta, GA. including more than 30 - 1st place awards for my condiments throughout the US which include hot sauces, BBQ sauces, & salsa.
